ILDC
|
 |
ILDC is a
non-profit organization with the primary purpose of
supporting the Indian Lake State Park
|
ILDC is a 25 year old organization of approximately
350 individuals and businesses working on projects for
the betterment of Indian Lake State Park.
Working with State and Local Officials
Each year the ILDC sponsors an
afternoon at the lake, complete with lunch and boat
rides, for State and Local officials to exchange
information about the accomplishments of the
organization and the needs for the park. Through
our efforts, and by working with Sate and Local
officials, the organization has been very instrumental
in obtaining money for such things as: dredging, park
benches, playground equipment, equipment for the park
maintenance, equipment for rangers, nature trails,
Nature Center, Multi-purpose building, Park Office
renovation and fishing access points for disabled
individuals.
Fundraisers

ILDC co-sponsors the annual Maple
Syrup Festival in March, and the Fall Festival in
September at the Indian Lake State Park Campground. The Maple Syrup Festival
continues to grow each year and features wagon rides
through the park to see the tapping of the Maple Trees.
The ride ends at Indian Lake State Park's very own Maple
Shack where visitors learn first hand how sap is boiled
down over a period of hours to create Maple Syrup.
A pancake breakfast is served by the
Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce. Maple syrup is
available for purchase from ILDC.
The fall festival has grown over the
years and has become one of the premier events
attracting hundreds of craft artisans, bands, music and
food. The annual event is an opportunity to
highlight many of the local artisans and
musicians. Local organizations sponsor food tents
and the Logan County Historical Society provides
visitors with the historical perspective.
Money raised by the ILDC is used to
support projects for the park. All officers and
members of ILDC are volunteers and do not receive
compensation for their work.
